Self Compassion are you cultivating that?

Being harassed, bullied, tormented for our views-can be incredibly demoralizing and painful.

Self compassion is such an important and vital part of getting through all that. Are you self forgiving in the way you may have regretted reacting to a situation? Are you confident in your stance and beliefs? Do you need to work on how you convey yourself online or how personally internalize what you've been through?

All this is still self compassion. The ability to take a moment and realize we have the ability to change or the ability to stand tall. That's pretty powerful. Share your thoughts below. Has a situation make you rethink your reaction? Or strengthen your stance? How can we better own and take back our experiences when we feel dis-empowered?

When I look back at some of the things I have done and maybe could have done 'better', I like to rationalise them as learning experiences. If I want to learn about being more self aware of then I will think about them in a positive way. This way I can use the lesson to become more in control of my experiences. I think that disempowerment comes from not feeling in control. I find that focusing on what I feel I can control and not on what I can't, makes sense to me.

JULES- Thanks for sharing. I definitely agree we can learn from every experience and it can make us more self aware. Excellent way to look at it! Feeling a lack of control in a situation is difficult. it's not easy and can make us feel anxious, sad, angry or worried.

Do you think disempowerment comes from not feeling in control? Can we still sit with, and be okay with not being in control sometimes? What are your thought?
