#CybersmileWORLDWIDE: international advisor training now available!

Exciting news from Cybersmile HQ today! There is quite a crowd of lovely people all over the world who want to volunteer with us – we are now able to offer training sessions online using the magic of the interwebs!

Wahoooo! As you know, here at Cybersmile we are quite the international socialites – if you’ve checked out our #CybersmileWORLDWIDE hashtag on Twitter then you’ll have seen the vast list of countries that we’re lucky to find our friendly Cybersmilers in. Within this community there are plenty of people who have been keen to volunteer with us as advisors and help people suffering from cyberbullying and digital abuse – we have organised training events in the past but it can be tricky to reach everyone!

You’ll be happy to know that we have put the finishing touches to our online training. After rigorous testing (“Hello? Can you hear me alright?!”) we’re all sorted.

Cybersmile founder, Scott Freeman, had this to say:

“It’s great that we are now able to announce our international training options. We are so pleased that our Cybersmile community includes a huge variety of people from all over the world – it’s exciting to be able to offer the same opportunities to those who live further from a Cybersmile base, or are unable to travel to events. We hope that by promoting more inclusion and diversity within our own support services we will provide even more help to those affected by cyberbullying and online abuse.”

To participate, you must be aged 16 or over and you will need access to a desktop or laptop computer for the training session. If you’d like to register your interest and be told about planned online sessions, email us: [email protected]

If you’re unable to volunteer as an advisor but would love to support victims of cyberbullying in other ways, you can still help! Visit the Get Involved page to find out about more options.
