Have you ever been bullied? If so, what was the situation, and how did you overcome it?

I was definitely bullied when I was a teenager. I overcame it by creating a group of friends I trusted and focusing on the things I wanted to accomplish.

When you were younger, what would you do if you saw someone being bullied? Would you change how you handled that situation?

I would make sure the person being bullied had a friend in myself, and stick up for the person being bullied. Chances are, when a bystander intervenes, the bully will stop.

Can you provide advice to someone who may be a victim of bullying?

My advice is lean on those around you for support. These people could be friends, family members or teachers. Make sure you confide in someone about the bullying, because no one should have to go through it alone.

Have you ever been cyberbullied? If so, what did you do to stop it?

When I was growing up, we didn't have social media like youth do today, but from my experience talking to young people, and visiting schools across the world, I know it is a huge problem and the best advice I could give them is to immediately block the bully and tell an adult. Chances are, if someone is bullying you, they are bullying other people as well. By telling someone, you're not only helping yourself, but helping countless other kids who are going through the same thing.
