We teamed up with Zink Talent for an influencer-led campaign to raise awareness of the profound impact that cyberbullying can have on the mental health of those targeted.
Launched to coincide with Stop Cyberbullying Day, Beyond Profiles aimed to spark meaningful conversation and promote positive actions against online abuse through the personal experiences of influencers and content creators whose lives have been deeply affected by the issue.
The campaign short, filmed at a studio location in Los Angeles, featured three creators who each shared their powerful first-hand testimonies relating to their own experiences of cyberbullying and abuse. They reminded viewers that there are real feelings and emotions behind social media accounts. The short film was shared widely across Cybersmile, Zink Talent, and influencer social media accounts, reaching millions of internet users and trending on X.
As part of the initiative, we undertook new research and launched Beyond Likes 2024: A national US study exploring the impact of cyberbullying on mental health. This data was then used to create Cyberbullying & Mental Health: A brand new interactive resource designed to help people learn about the scale and severity of cyberbullying and its potential impact on mental health.
