We're pleased to announce our involvement in a new All Party Parliamentary Group for Young People and Technology! The launch event tomorrow, Thursday, October 15th, 2015, at the BT Tower in London, will bring together young people, industry leaders, and members of both houses to celebrate the launch of the new APPG, which will focus on issues such as cyberbullying, digital abuse, and e-safety.
We are delighted to have The Cybersmile Foundation on board with us. They are the leading voice in the fight against cyberbullying and their experience in this field is a most valuable asset to the group. We look forward to working with Cybersmile in developing innovative and effective strategies that will help to enhance and improve the lives of young people.
Luke Roberts, Consultant and APPG Member
The purpose of the day is for technology leaders to showcase current and upcoming innovations with a view to helping members of both houses learn about the risks and opportunities that these technologies present to young people. Industry attendees include BT, Vodafone, and Twitter.
The event will feature keynote speakers discussing the latest trends and issues, and the APPG for Young People and Technology will be setting out its plans to work with the tech industry, young people, and key stakeholders such as charities and schools.
We are honored to have been invited to sit in the advisory group for this APPG. It is exciting for us to be part of such a forward-thinking group who are dedicated to such an important issue that currently affects so many young people in the UK.
Dan Raisbeck, Co-founder, The Cybersmile Foundation
We look forward to working with the other APPG members to make some real headway into change and action for young people to prevent cyberbullying and digital abuse in the future!
